Gamers like to use it to play, which is fine, but dedicating all that time to that single activity is what we can call hardcore. Now many people use that kind of time to watch TV and just relax. There usually isn't much time left for non-essential activities, maybe a couple of hours a day.ġ5h a week means you are playing 3 hours on 5 days, usually evenings, so you have 2 evenings where you don't play for pretty much your full downtime. Leisure includes preparing meals, eating and grocery shopping, house work and cleaning, commuting, making phone calls, seeing your friends and family, reading the news or other things, exercise and going on walks. 15h a day is not healthy for any extended period of time.Ī regular schedule for a worker or student is: 8h of work/study, 8h of leisure, 8h of sleep. I would judge that as being a streamer/coach/pro player with a shitty work life balance, or someone between jobs. But honestly, I find it pretty much just as bad for the reasons I stated above.ġ5h a day is beyond hardcore. It's just not 'as bad' as randomized loot boxes or overpriced MTX. And the only reason they do that is because the more I play, according to their data, the more likely I am to buy more stuff from the Shop (narrator: he never will though). They give me proper value for my money with the $10 bundle of skins, but it is tied to daily playtime and an expiration date if I don't play often enough. But honestly, that's how much $10 should get me. The Battle Pass system is just an attempt to handcuff me to a particular game on a pretty much daily basis for 2-3 months. So I, for instance, might feel rushed through God of War so that I can get my money's worth out of OW2. But if I bought the OW pass I feel compelled to complete it.
